The power of not thinking too much!

Its been a while since i updated my blog. I was busy with NaNowrimo – The national novel writing month that is organized every year in the month of november. I enrolled myself before four years and was able to do it only this time. I started writing a crime thriller titled “The Sanguine terminal”. I wrote 13000 words so far and I have a long way to go. Let’s see what happens. If all goes well according to the plan, then you will be reading “Sanguine Terminal” by 2014.

Recently I’ve been reading about Chris Guillebeau’s “The 100$ startup” , a very inspiring book on how to start your own company and live your dreams. chris , who himself a entrepreneur and a frequent traveller , met hundreds of entrepreneurs from around the world and crafted the book in a wonderful way. I always wanted to start my own company. This idea was seeded in my mind long back, when I started reading the history of some big tech companies like Google, Apple. Yes I know what you’re trying to say. Almost everyone who comes across the journey of people who built great empires, we tend to think of doing something like that and then eventually forget about it and carry on with our usual lives.

We first think of the risks involved and shelve the idea so that we can do it later. May be at the age of 40 or 50. We often doubt our abilities to be successful. It’s not certain that we will be. But there is nothing wrong in taking a risk. Sometimes we should go crazy, to make life more interesting. Look back at your life, and see what’s the most craziest thing you have done (while you are not drunk!). If there’s nothing, then go do something crazy. Do a freefall from a plane, climb a mountain. Travel 100kms to eat at your favorite restaurant. Travel in the AC coach of the train just for the sake of it. If you’re planning on doing something, then do it right now. Don’t think.

Ray Bradbury, a famous science fiction writer will have a sticker pasted on top of his typewriter. It used to say “Don’t think”. Thinking too much will ruin all the fun sometime. In the book I’m reading now, there is a quote on the beginning of chapter 13 which says

“Nothing will work unless you do” – Maya Angelou

The sentence may be small, the meaning it bears is priceless. A valuable lesson we all should keep in our minds when we wake up facing every day of our life. My aim is to create a small startup which should the best media service and media education in the country.

For the past two years, I’ve been working as a freelancer doing a lot of assignments in Photography, Graphic Design and writing. I took up every challenge that came along the way and now I am planning to take a step ahead. To provide these services as a company. I don’t know how this is gonna work out. the only way to find out is, by doing it.

So all of you who are reading this, if you wanna do something or say something, do it right away. There’s nothing called a right moment. Every moment is right when you say it or do it right.

All the best.
